Project Overview
Bank Quay house felt stuck in the 1990s. Recently acquired by Equinox Properties, they decided to create a co-working space combined with a coffee shop, plus revitalise the existing reception space, communal areas, and WCs in the building. Alongside the workspace design proposals, the building was re-named ’The Outset’ and re-branded. Standing Space worked alongside Shelia Bird Studio to re-design the ground floor, maximising the space to provide a variety of different co-working spaces from group tables, window benches & private booths.
The new centralised coffee shop is located as the hub to the ground floor, serving the co-working space, coffee shop seating and building tenants. What an excellent multi-functional space with good food and drink!
We just loved working on this food & beverage retail redesign & fit-out project.
Building History
The 26,000 sqft building was acquired by Equinox Properties at the end of 2017. Equinox then undertook a full refurbishment of the building.

Design Challenges
This project was definitely out with the old and in with the new. The modernisation of the whole building including the creation of a co-working space, independent café, refreshed common parts, new tenant drinks stations and serviced offices spaces. In adition a new name and brand where by Equinox properties implemented The Outset.
Client Testimonial
Excellent designers with a very pragmatic and collaborative approach. Recommended.
